Chromium Oxide Green Substitute

Chromium oxide green substitute. Though chromium oxide green is not a serious health hazard it can cause irritation of the skin and eyes and can cause nausea and other problems if ingested. Everything from rembrandt green chromium oxide green viridian and prussian green and a few others. At times i ve even eliminated green entirely from my palette and simply mixed all my greens from blues yellows and reds. I don t use chromium green as it is a very opaque green though it is an interesting colour.
Simply rub the bar of compound on your strop. Green honing compound is easy to use. In fact an unsaturated green color is easily made by mixing a lemon or middle yellow with a touch of black pigment which shifts the color straight toward the center of the wheel. Dull dark chromium oxide green works on yellows in a similar way and produces lively but delicate greenish yellows and leaf greens.
The waxy consistency makes it easy to apply the compound. This fine chromium oxide and aluminum oxide abrasive is used when you want a polished honed edge on your tools and it can be used on leather wood or synthetic strops. It also can cause respiratory problems when dust is inhaled.
