Cleaning Carrara Marble Stain

Cleaning carrara marble stain. Don t use soap as it is fat based and can cause the stone to darken. To clean the marble you should spray the cleaner on the surface of the stone and wipe it off with a soft cloth or paper towel. Scrub gently and wipe soapy solution off with a clean. For most organic food stains the marble institute recommends cleaning with a solution of 12 hydrogen peroxide and a few drops of ammonia.
How can you remove stains from marble. Water left on the marble surface can cause stains. Oil based stains can be removed with a poultice. Clean the marble with warm water and detergent.
A poultice is a thick paste that can draw the stain out of your marble. You should give your carrara marble a good cleaning after each use or once a day with a special stone cleaner. Once you have finished cleaning the marble surface wipe the surface down with the dry chamois. You can use a cleaner specifically meant for marble or store bought detergent.
Let the bleach sit for 5 10 minutes and then rub with white towel. Hard water deposits if left unattended will etch the marble s surface. Switch out your cloth for a clean one when it gets dirty. Be sure the marble surface is dry.
After you are finished cleaning the marble surface be sure to check and see if a stain was left behind by the spill. Water stains cannot be cleaned off. Water stains are removed by repolishing the damaged area. Most marble stains can be removed by using a homemade solution called a poultice.
Once the stain is removed rinse the entire area with clean water and then dry the surface. Using a squeegee first makes the rest of the wiping easier. If you spilled anything oil based like a vinaigrette. The exact method of repolishing depends on the severity of the stains and the type of surface finish as explained below. Clean the surface with water then put the bleach water mixture into a spray bottle. Wipe down the surface with warm water.
Water should always always always be wiped off carrara marble tile using a soft cloth or chamois or rubber tipped squeegee. In most cases your daily cleaning won t require more than a simple wipe down with warm water. If not using marble cleaner mix a squirt of gentle non abrasive dish soap with warm water in a spray bottle and spray the counter generously.
