Cloth Awning Cleaning

For fixed awnings rollup awnings and retractable awnings made of canvas or outdoor fabrics use a mild laundry detergent and lukewarm water.

Cloth awning cleaning. Add 3 ounces of a mild laundry soap such as the kind used for baby clothes or delicate washables per gallon of water. Step 1 pour cool or lukewarm water into a bucket. Then leave the awning open and spread out to let it air dry completely. Once the awning is dried you can leave it alone until the next cleaning.

Two ounces one fourth cup of natural soap. Four ounces half cup of chlorine bleach. Depending on your awning material you will need to use different cleaning solutions. Hang the awning out to air dry and leave it until the next cleaning.

Dip the clean cloth into the cleaning solution and spread the cleaner all over the awning. Htd heavy duty detergent is strong enough to remove those tough stains yet mild enough to use on a wide arrange of fabrics. If you took the awning down to clean it put it back up while it s still damp so it ll easily stretch to fit its mount. Prepare a special cleaning mixture.

You can also use a vinyl or fabric cleaner if you wish. This detergent is especially effective if you decide to wash the awning fabric in a washing machine. Once the entire surface of the awning has been soaked with cleaner let it sit for about 15 minutes. If your awnings are made of aluminum use a solvent especially created for it.

Re dip the cloth as necessary so that cleaning solution reaches every inch of the fabric otherwise you might miss some of the mildew. A great cleaning solution for fabric awnings is htd heavy duty detergent.
